Life in Jogja (Part 4)

DINNER IN GEOBOG (SEAFOOD RESTAURANT)

We made the bus waited for us in UPN and everyone has already in the bus except for us. We dragged our time in the hall with few committees and for our victory speeches. Sorry guys choose not to upload the speech because I looked funny in it. So, this is not what I want to talk about. Went back to Sriwedari around 6.00 pm from UPN and get ready for the dinner. This time they're bringing us out from the hotel to a place called Geobog. It's a nice and beautiful restaurant with big pond (I would call it) inside and NO CHAIRS! haha I know there are plenty Indonesian restaurants I've been in KL offer this kind of environment but the only difference is this time the foods are free.. haha

the best dish of the night
Oh ah'ha I know I forgot to tell this, the Indonesian rarely take cold drinks at night. Every night, we gonna have this hot tea instead of fruit juice etc. But that doesn't bother me much because the foods are REALLY REALLY DARN great! So actually that night, most of us are exhausted since we've spent the day in UPN for the competition so I would say we all look tired till the death and wish to have a good rest for the next day

hungry monsters

in the bus excited to go back to the hotel
In the bus, these Indonesian guys show us a 'magic' using spoon and laughed till I think can rack the bus off. Jackson tricked us that he can bent and un-bent a spoon. I was really impressed at first but not after I knew the trick. He told me his own trick. haha Maybe it was something lame for some people but I love the friendship and bond that we had in the bus. Magic is just a magic but the relation that was mold there, no one can tell how lucky I am to be in Yogyakarta.

Facts are FUN

You yawn when you're sleepy. FACT! You use pen to write. FACT! these are all facts that you will never argue upon because you know they are TRUE. Ok, what if someone told you ice creams are Chinese foods. Would you believe that? Haha so this will make you start to seek for the truth and think on the rationality of the statement. These few FACTS I've collected are basically somemade me scratch my head for seconds and some made me laugh like hell. Have a look at try to ask yourself :)

1) The most common name in the world is Mohammed - percentage of Muslim in the world is only 23%
2) People spend about two weeks of their lives at traffic lights! - So not in Malaysia LOL
3) The majority of suicides occur on a Monday - Maybe people tend to stress themselves in the first day of the week
4) The strongest muscle in proportion to its size in the human body is the tongue - Should I exercise my torque as well in the gym? hahah
5) A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why - Is it? Should do some experiments later on this
6)  Barbie's measurements if she were life size: 39-23-33 - what is the scale they refer to? she may be shorter and slimmer
7) Donald Duck comics were banned from Finland because he doesn't wear trousers - hahha this is soooo funny
8) More than ten people a year are killed by vending machines - how can those stupid boxes murder people? hit them? explode??
9) President George W. Bush was once a cheerleader! - haha no comment :P
10) A toothpick is the object most often choked on by Americans - those are not food people.. come on!

So long :)

L.O.S.E.R

Hurm I know human will eventually try their best to be the best but that does not give the green light for you to cut other people off. If you wanna fight choose the right rival don't pick a loser. Because once you do, YOU'RE A LOSER TOO!

LOSER LIKE ME by Glee Cast

Yeah, you may think that I’m a zero
But, hey, everyone you wanna be
Probably started off like me
You may say that I’m a freakshow (I don’t care)
But, hey, give me just a little time
I bet you’re gonna change your mind

All of the dirt you’ve been throwin’ my way
It ain’t so hard to take, that’s right
‘Cause I know one day you’ll be screamin’ my name
And I’ll just look away, that’s right

Just go ahead and hate on me and run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the WORST you got and knock me down
Baby, I don’t care
Keep it up, AND SOON ENOUGH YOU'LL FIGURE OUT
You wanna be
You wanna be
A loser like me
A loser like me

Push me up against the locker
And hey, all I do is shake it off
I’ll get you back when I’m your boss
I’m not thinkin’ ’bout you haters
‘Cause hey, I could be a superstar
I’ll see you when you wash my car

All of the dirt you’ve been throwin’ my way
It ain’t so hard to take, that’s right
‘Cause I know one day you’ll be screamin’ my name
And I’ll just look away, that’s right

Just go ahead and hate on me and run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the words you got and knock me down
Baby, I don’t care
Keep it up, AND SOON ENOUGH YOU'LL FIGURE OUT
You wanna be
You wanna be
A loser like me
A loser like me

Hey, you, over there
Keep the L up-up in the air
Hey, you, over there
Keep the L up, ’cause I don’t care
You can throw your sticks, and you can throw your stones
Like a rocket, just watch me go
Yeah, l-o-s-e-r
I can only be who I are

Just go ahead and hate on me and run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the words you got and knock me down
Baby, I don’t care
Keep it up, AND SOON ENOUGH YOU'LL FIGURE OUT
You wanna be
You wanna be
A loser like me

Just go ahead and hate on me and run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the words you got and knock me down
Baby, I don’t care
Keep it up, AND SOON ENOUGH YOU'LL FIGURE OUT
You wanna be
You wanna be
A loser like me (A loser like me)
A loser like me (A loser like me)
A loser like me

Life in Jogja (Part 3)

SMART COMPETITION IN UPN 'VETERAN' YOGYAKARTA

'Beauty girls all over the world I could be chasing but my time will be wasting, they've got noth...' That was my phone alarming me up that morning. It's the competition day! Oh my oh my were those pupas in my stomach? I can feel it really hard in me. I looked down, Kang was still in her bed, I looked to the right, Jules and Ayu were still comforting themselves in the thick warm quilt. It was really tranquil around the Sri Wedari compound. Birdies singing in the morning and crickets mating on the grass. Am I getting exaggerate? haha sorry2.

Reluctantly I forced myself to let go of the morning breeze and the warm hug from the bed into the bathroom. I looked into the mirror smiled to myself to boost my spirit and confidence for the day. Took off everything .....(oops sensored)...... while singing Just the way you are by Bruno Mars and Without you by Mariah Carey (wow, high taste huh? hahah), I get myself into my SPE corporate shirt and my formal pant. Urm, I'm going to do this to my best (monolog). I opened the toilet door, those 3 princesses are awake. In the mean time while waiting the clock to reach 7.30 am, I lay my back on the pillow and try to read some notes on Brent oil and OPEC. I could feel the pupa making some move and hatching to let the beautiful wings out.

Around 7.30 am, we walked to the dining hall for some breakfast. How on earth could I eat something? I just can't. My tummy refuse any food this morning but I have to have something before the competition. Look at me! I'm nervous haha

To be honest, I can't taste the food I ate and I can't remember what are those white stuffs in my plate. Was that some kind of ketupat (lump of rice). hahah see how bad my memory is and how nervous I was that morning. Haha personally my mission wasn't to win but at least be in the final round but you know the feeling I had was even worst than sitting for a final exam.

the incredible team :)

So, to make it short, these pictures below represent the tense, excitement and valuable experience Kang, Adonis and I had throughout the competition. WARNING: don't got stress looking at our expressions (in sequence)... haha

last minute preparation before hitting the prelim round

Trisakti, UTP and UI in the prelim group A2

(Trisakti really compete and slight winning by UTP)
UI team was all non-Petroleum students so obviously they find those questions hard but this Trisakti I would say one of the best Petroleum Engineering school in Indonesia, man they were way too quick. They can predict the questions in the middle of the question-reading. However, they're quite nervous on calculation questions. They've missed 60 points for the bonus questions because they can't compute the answers correctly. From the result you can see, UTP had 20 points extra and that was the scariest moment. The last question was the indicator whether UTP or Trisakti go to the next round. Alhamdulillah we hit the buzz first and we beat Trisakti.
In the semi-final round against STT Migas

the result (STT Migas was strong too)
the 2 fellows that we bullied (special thanks to Ali and Indra)
STT Migas the winner from A1 team were really good in drilling and completion knowledge. During the prelim, they've shown their strength and I can only pray that I can hit the buzzer earlier than them. We were quite lucky to actually beat them during the toss-up round.
In the final :S (I cant feel my hand and leg)

The slight winning by UTP against UPN and ITB
Final, urrrrggggghhhhh should I say something about it??? man, to be frank, the final questions were damn tough. None of the team managed to answer most of the questions correctly. We had two toss-up questions where we only managed to get half marks. So there were no bonus question sequel from the toss-up question.
ITB and UPN are the 2 gigantic petroleum school in Indonesia were I put my money on them to win the competition. They really put the fight on fire and the competition was really full with tense. Haha but no doubt we are the best! ITB, UPN and UTP :)

The winning thumbs up and smiles

OGIP 2011 official blog  (They didn't update the participant names :( so you'll never find Nurul Iffah Muhammad Garib representing UTP in the Smart Competition there... hahah :P)

This is how I felt

This is exactly how I acted in the cafe but with 2 guys instead laughing at me and 2 guys as the audience. I wish there were someone to back me up but there weren't. :( Sh*t don't think I will ever forget that moment!

Stone-heart

Tonight really made me think 'Am I that bad till they hate me?' then I think again 'Wait, I hate them first' but not because of their looks or physical appearance but because how un-gentlemen they acted throughout the 'friendship'. Officially, they are my long-time enemy and I will never ever gonna forgive them. I know forgiving someone should be the noblest thing in the world but I ain't perfect so I don't think I'm kind enough to forgive them even if they ask for one later.

Making fun of a girl is a no-no especially you are a guy and it was a public humiliation. Well-done to them because finally they achieved their mission to make me look like a dumb ass in the cafe in front of other teammates. FU*K, S*U* those words are totally can't represent them because they are even worst. Analogically, when a girl blooded her pant during the 'moon period' and two guys saw and shouted to her 'Hey. there's blood on your pants' instead of the guy goes next to the girl and whisper.

That was really embarrassed. I didn't say they shouted to me because of something sensitive but they plan to take a picture of me and they really insist for the snap. I push his damn hand and hide my face and I saw flash. I teared myself and I really meant that I hate them. Not even once I cried at the age of 20s because I feel so dumb and humiliated by TWO DAMN GUYS!

I know this is like a high school issues but they really acted like a kindergarten boys! Man, I can't stand this. It was too much tooooooooooooooo way toooooo much. :( I hate them and will always be. I dont think that I can see their faces after this. Revenge is good and sweet but will it really worth it? Allah knows better.

So for those who've been in this situation, just believe in one this KARMA. It may sounds lame and rotten but just let the nature teach them. We may hate those asses and feel like punching their faces every single time they're in front of us but lets just feel sympathy for them because they are the losers who think they're great. So long :)

Life in Jogja (Part 2)

Eventhough it has been a hectic and bustle week for me, but I never forget to embrace the amenities. So lets continue the journey in Jogja on the 2nd day of the week.

DAY 2 (continue)
We actually waited for a couple of hours at the lobby but to be honest I don't even bother because we had fun waiting. Imagine if we're in the room, I would just sleep and waste my time there. We talked, chatted, laugh and it was the time when we become really close with those Indonesian friends. Around 1 pm, we went into the room, oh my, it was really a nice place with a different approach and uniqueness than in Malaysia. It is more towards the Indonesian' culture and carving (of course.. daaaaa hahah). We had our lunch in Ambarukmo Plaza (Amplaz) and this time, I ordered a great chicken teriyaki claypot...

yummy chicken teriyaki claypot

my excited plus starving look
At night, we had the OGIP Introduction Night and we were requested to do a cry-war... That was damn funny and embarrassing :P haha. Did I mention, those food served during the gathering are great and nice. I love the sambal and soup, too pleasant to eat. The objective of this student gathering is to of course gather future petroleum engineers and geologists under one roof and obviously in my opinion, mission accomplished. I met thousands friends there and it was all about FUN FUN FUN and FUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNN! hahah.

us :)
Since it was the competition night, we stayed up quite late that night around 2.30 am just to do some brief revisions and discussions together. It wasn't a good move actually because we suppose to have a tranquil sleep to be fresh in the morning. (yawn... ahhhhhh)

Life in Jogja (Part 1)

What can I say, I had a damn good time in Yogyakarta, Indonesia a couple days ago. Man, wish could turn back the time and enjoy every single tick of the time there. 5 of us left Malaysia on Sunday and hit the land of djogja around 12.50 am (Indonesian time) it's the first time for us to be in the Republic of Indonesia. We were greeted by 4 marvelous men (Afif, Ali, Avi and Reza) who I would say spent their time for us throughout the trip. I can't describe how excited and thankful I am when I was called up to join the competition even it was like a week before the trip but after all those repaid and worth it.

DAY 1
We had our lunch together at a traditional restaurant and I had this 'ketupat tahu' and I can't remember my drink.. hahah ok, the food was great it feels like eating in Malaysia but the drink was really something different, it's full with herb, it tasted sweet but at the same time spicy. haha but at least I had the experience tasting some original drinks from Indonesia.

hungry faces
Then, we headed back to the hotel, I love the cozy and comfort of the LPP hotel. I had a good 'nap' there oh yeah did I tell you that the time in Jogja runs slower? haha so I actually missed the chance to try the bechak that evening. Takpe2 I still have more time to go there :P I hardly say that I felt nervous that night because I just couldn't read anything. Nothing goes into my mind. Haha so those boys said 'the girls like to sleep' hahah ok I admit that

DAY 2
It's the official day of OGIP 2011 and we checked-in to another hotel with a better design and structure. The rooms are bigger and it was a great idea to mix the participants from different universities. A big applause to the committees. Even we had to waited a couple hours but at least that was the moment we get to know our LOs (Liaison Officers) better.

TO BE CONTINUE....
